After a Solid Month of March, We Look to Baseball

Well, when you have as bad a month as we did in February, it's very easy to talk about turning the ship around; all that really counts are results.

And March was all about results: we really had a great month, going 15-5, and recovering nearly 8% of our losses from our low point on March 2nd (we actually went 15-3 from March 3 until the end of the month).

Now basketball is coming to an end (we'll probably just pick another game or two in the upcoming week), and then we'll move right into baseball. The transition from basketball to baseball is seamless, since the two seasons overlap nicely - the Major League Baseball season will have had about two weeks to gather stats before we start picking games.

For our newer clients who haven't been with us during baseball season, it's certainly a different beast: instead of picking over/unders (as we do for the NBA), PickLogic selects winners in baseball, and the "odds" aren't always at -110 - in fact, they rarely are. We'll usually take games anywhere from -150 all the way to +120, but the method remains the same: PickLogic will tell you what to RISK (not what to win), and the odds will only have an effect on the net profits.

Once the season starts, we'll make another blog post that outlines some of methods that PickLogic uses to generate baseball selections.

Thanks, as usual, for your support - we look forward to a profitable baseball season!

Closing Out 2009 - 30% Up for the Year

Goals are funny things; the power of setting goals, writing them down, and declaring them to the world is rather amazing. PickLogic highly encourages its members to write down their own goals as 2010 begins. Look at them regularly, and you'll be amazed at how they can affect your reality.

Take PickLogic, for example. At the beginning of 2009, we distinctly set a goal of a +30% year. It wasn't conservative or agressive; we felt it was something we should be able to hit given our past performance, but it would require our normal due diligence, discipline and focus.

So what happens? Come last December (the 22nd, to be exact), we're cruising right along, well above our 30% goal, right around +34% for the year. And then we have three losses in a row to finish the year...and the 4% loss gives us a 30.04% increase for 2009.

If you had a $10,000 account, your profit was $3,004 for the year: that's about as close as you can get to 30% on the year.

So this year, we're going to put a new goal out there: PickLogic accounts will gain 35% in 2010. This isn't a prediction, it's our goal. We expect to hit it, we'll post it around our offices, and our intention will make it a reality.

(We'll also set a goal of trying to make more blog posts this year!)

Once again, thanks for being a PickLogic member; here's to a great 2010 for us all!
