Almost 20% up for 2009
It's been quite awhile since our last blog post, and for that, we apologize. But those of you have been diligently following PickLogic since the beginning of the year have been rewarded handsomely: the win on Tuesday night puts PickLogic clients up 19.8% since the beginning of the calendar year.
Perhaps most impressive (or least impressive, depending on how you look at it) is the fact that we've had these results even with a sub-.500 record: we're 60-68 through August 18.
Of course, we get questioned on this all the time: how is it possible to have a portfolio that's up 20% when we're picking games at a 45% clip (especially given the "vig" or "juice" each transaction requires)?
Answer 1: Avoid long losing streaks. PickLogic's ONLY goal, when it comes down to it, is to avoid lengthy losing streaks.
Answer 2: Intelligent money management. Relying on the fact that the PickLogic method of decision-making avoids long losing streaks, the money-management system means that nearly every win (whether or not it's been preceded by a loss or not) results in a net positive outcome. (i.e., a 1-0 record produces a positive outcome, and a 1-2 record produces a similar positive outcome.)
With about 45 days remaining in the Major League Baseball season, we expect to wrap up September in the +25% range for the calendar year (and about 13-15% for the baseball season alone, following an 18% gain for the 2008-2009 basketball season).
Thanks for your continued support...and feel free to tell your friends about PickLogic!
