PickLogic Wraps Up a Successful Basketball Season

As the NBA season comes to a close, we figured it was time to reflect on the last 6 months, and to let you know the plan for the next few weeks.

NBA Recap:
The basketball season runs from November to mid-April, and PickLogic's performance was certainly about what we expected: positive results in every calendar month, with only a few losing streaks peppered in.

November: 6-6 record, +2.75%
December: 10-6 record, +4.94%
January: 7-10 record, +3.05%
February: 11-5 record, +6.57% (a record month for PickLogic)
March: 8-10 record, +0.80%
April: 2-3 record, +1.16% (so far)

That's a total of +19.2% for the NBA season, well above our already-lofty 10-15% expectations. And we're up 11.6% for the 2009 calendar year, which is certainly impressive in these less-than-certain economic times.

Note that for the entire NBA season, we only had one losing streak of more than 3 games (it happened recently, and was a 5-game streak). We had just five 3-game losing streaks, and the rest was smooth sailing - again, this is very typical. We expect to have one or two losing streaks during a sport season; weathering them and moving on is a staple of investing using PickLogic.

Well...enough reflecting on the past...it's time to look forward!

The Plan for the Next Few Weeks:
The last regular-season basketball game happens next week (on or around April 14); PickLogic will continue to make basketball selections right up to the end of the regular season (roughly 3-5 more NBA picks).

This will give the just-started baseball (MLB) season a chance to accrue some statistics for PickLogic to crunch, and we'll likely make our first baseball pick on or around April 18 (10 days from now).

We know we have quite a few clients that (for whatever reason) like to raise their account levels during baseball; consider this your 10-day advance notice!

Thanks, as always, for all of your positive comments. We love hearing about how PickLogic works for you; feel free to drop us a note at support@picklogic.com if you have any stories to share, or any questions about how things work around here.

We'll post another blog entry as we make the official switch from basketball to baseball.

Comments :
now that 2009 season is not quite the 11.6 after just a few games with baseball. I like and really like the system, to a point. I like the fun, i like the not knowing. but there is not a savings account out there than can not do 1.6% per year even in these times. what happens every time at the end or the beginning of each season. we lose everything that we have built up. why does this keep happening for the past few seasons.
