Record Month for February for PickLogic

One of the very nice things about following PickLogic as part of your investment portfolio is its consistency: the system is built around managing risk. While it's very rare that we'll have a month with a negative return, it's also rare that we have any months with very large gains. Typically, we'll see between 2% and 4% gains in any given calendar month, usually topping out at around 5%.

Well, February set all kinds of records over here at PickLogic. In all our years of managing our clients' money, both privately and - more recently - on the Web, we hadn't had a month as beneficial as the recently-completed 2nd month of the 2009.

February saw an impressive 6.57% gain.

We've had months in which our win-loss record was better than 11-5 (which is certainly nothing to scoff at), but the key was that we didn't have a single two-game losing streak. Every loss was followed by at least one win (and if you follow the results closely, you'll know that the profit margins are highest when we avoid losing streaks; in other words, going "1-0" or "1-1" returns a higher yield than does a "1-2" streak).

At any rate, we also had a banner month for adding new PickLogic subscribers, so we want to thank everyone who joined in the month of February. Not that we want to scare you off, but please don't expect 6%+ gains every month! Based on our past consistent history, March should be closer to the 3%-or-so number with which we've all become quite comfortable.

But +17.3% for the NBA season and +9.6% in 2009 are pretty good!
