Back to Normal, Just as Baseball is Getting Started
It's been about three weeks since we posted...and the lack of blog posts isn't too surprising, given that PickLogic's performance has reverted back to the norm (and as result, there's not much to say!).
Since that very rough 4-12 stretch spanning the end of February and early March, PickLogic is a tidy 10-6 -- but more importantly, our clients are up more than 3% in those 21 days (which means that if you had a $10,000 account, you'd be up over $300 over that period of time).
(Note that despite going 4-12, our clients lost less than 1% on their total portfolios -- not that we like to have those bad streaks to illustrate the safety of PickLogic, but there you go: 4-12, down less than 1%. Pretty good illustration.)
And despite losing 6 of 7 to begin March, the calendar month still saw our clients' portfolios experience an increase of 1% (even with an additional two losses to finish the month) -- giving PickLogic its 34th positive month out of the 36 months that the Web site has been in existence. 1% isn't much, you say? The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1/2% over that period of time, while the NASDAQ index was flat for March...and both indices are way down since the beginning of the year, while PickLogic continues to motor along, now up 8.14% for 2008 (after a 34.57% increase in 2007).
At any rate, we didn't post this message to gloat about our results -- the sharp increase in new clients lately tells us that people are starting to get it (and that the people who already "got" it are telling their friends). To all of our recent new members: thanks for joining!
On to more important business:
We're getting a lot of questions as to when PickLogic will start making baseball picks (and stop making NBA selections). The answer: the MLB and NBA seasons overlap nicely -- when one starts, the other ends. This is true particularly in the Spring, when the regular NBA season extends about two weeks into the baseball season, allowing baseball statistics to accrue without MLB picks being made.
So we'll make another 10 days or so of basketball picks (around 4-7 selections), and then move on to baseball towards the middle of the month. There won't be any going back and forth; once we start making baseball selections, we'll stop making them for basketball.
For those of you that have gotten used to basketball betting, we'll post a quick tutorial when it comes to baseball wagers (because it's definitely different!).
Thanks again for your support!
