Q: Is this legal to do in the United States?
A: Gaming laws vary from state to state and country to country, but there are millions of people in the US using foreign-based sports books to wager. Check your local regulations -- but there is no law that specifically makes it illegal for US citizens to use online sportsbooks. The recent laws don't address gambling -- what they address is the methods by which US consumers fund their gaming accounts. And while some financial processors no longer allow electronic transferring of funds as a result, this is hardly a deterrant to PickLogic clients, who aren't depositing and withdrawing as much as the average gambler. In addition to using an authorized payment processer, you can send a cashier's check, or use Western Union (for which the sportsbooks will often refund any cost it takes to make the transfer...and it can often be completed in an hour or two).
Q: What is the winning percentage for PickLogic since the Web site started?
A: Well, we don't look at our win-loss record as all that important. Our goal is to avoid long losing streaks, and bet accordingly. Our focus is on the percentage return we provide our clients.
But we know that people look at both, so...here's the breakdown:
- For the 2005 baseball season, PickLogic returned a 17.6% increase (win-loss record: 42-33, 56%). (Odds of our average selection: -106)
- For the 2005-2006 basketball season, PickLogic returned a 9.0% increase (win-loss record: 22-35, 39%). (Odds of our average selection: -107)
- For the 2006 baseball season, PickLogic returned a 9.3% increase (win-loss record: 41-29, 59%). (Odds of our average selection: -131)
- For the 2006-2007 basketball season, PickLogic returned a 21.4% increase (win-loss record: 53-40, 57%). (Odds of our average selection: -108)
- For the 2007 baseball season, PickLogic returned a 16.6% increase (win-loss record: 70-52, 57%). (Odds of our average selection: -121)
Overall, that puts our winning percentage at around 56%. So basically, by winning just slightly more than half of our selections, we've increased our clients' accounts by
about 75% in just over 2 1/2 years.
Q: How much does it cost to become a PickLogic member?
A: Membership is $49 per month, and there are discounts available when you purchase more than one month at a time. However, your first month is completely free, with no obligation (and no credit card required). See the Pricing page for more details.
Q: What are my tax implications?
A: It is your responsibility to report any earnings you make through the use of PickLogic advice to your local or national government tax agencies. Please be responsible!
Q: How much money do I need to commit? (What should my "starting balance" be?)
A: There's no cut-and-dried answer to this question. While you should absolutely have the entire amount you're committing to the PickLogic system available (this amount is your "starting balance"), realistically, you shouldn't need to "tap into" the entire amount. It's probably acceptable to deposit 10-25% of your intended starting balance to begin with. (Some people have started with much less, and have still been fine; if you have a "$20,000" starting balance, we suggest depositing a minimum of $3,000, and just be prepared to deposit more, should it become necessary.)
Note that PickLogic suggests a wager for you based on the amount of your starting balance -- if you have a starting balance of $1,000, your wagers will be 1/10 of the amount of the wagers shown on this sample account. We recommend a "starting balance" of at least $5,000 to start, but it's entirely up to you. The average starting balance of our clients is around $25,000 (with some clients well over $200,000). Note that your PickLogic subscription costs exactly the same, regardless of what you've declared your starting balance to be.
Q: How often does PickLogic make a pick?
A: PickLogic almost never generates more than one pick per day. Typically, there are between 3 and 6 picks per week.
Q: When will I receive a pick?
A: You'll have at least an eight hour notice before a game starts (and usually closer to 16 hours or more). Be sure to watch your e-mail closely -- all notifications are delivered via e-mail, usually around 11pm Pacific time! (Note that you'll receive an e-mail from us EVERY day, without fail: either we'll tell you what the next selection is, or we'll tell you that there's no selection for that day.)
Q: What happens if I don't get an e-mail for whatever reason?
A: Be sure to log into the PickLogic.com Web site and click on "My Picks" -- if the PickLogic system has made a pick, it will show up in your "My Picks" section (and will be listed as "pending").
Q: How do I renew my membership?
A: Each month (once you become a paying customer), your membership is automatically renewed for you on the anniversary date of when you signed up (if you became a member on the 14th of the month, you'll be billed on the 14th of each successive month). If you want to cancel, just tell us before your next "anniversary" and we'll take care of it for you and ensure you're not billed again. (Note: for clients on 3-month, 6-month or yearly packages, your account will automatically be renewed for the same term on the date of expiration, unless you cancel it beforehand.)
Q: I wasn't able to follow your recommendation today! What do I do?
A: You must go to the "My Picks" section and edit your results (it's very easy to do).
Q: I'm making my wager, but the line that I see isn't the same as what you've suggested! Should I still make the wager?
A: PickLogic selections are made at around 11pm Pacific time. Between the time the pick is made and the time you're able to place your wager, it's very possible that the odds or the line may have changed (say, from "-110" to "-117", or from "OVER a total of 192 points" to "OVER 195"). Our guidelines in these cases are as follows: regardless of how far the odds move (in your favor, or against), you'll still take the selection (even if it moves from -110 to -140). For basketball picks, you'll still take it UNLESS the line moves MORE THAN 4 POINTS against you (in the case of "OVER 192", take it all the way up to 196).
Depending on the sportsbook you use, the faster you get the game after we issue the pick, the less likely the odds will move up or down. But don't worry too much if you don't get the exact odds; sometimes, they'll move up (against the selection), and sometimes down (in your favor). It evens out over time.
The key is that you risk the exact amount you're told (if you're told to risk $150, that's the total amount that you should have at risk -- you're not trying to WIN $150).
Q: Is it acceptable to bet a higher or lower wager than you suggest?
A: Yes, although it's not recommended. Doing so will change the entire system, but we can't stop you from betting higher or lower -- just be sure to adjust the results in the "My Picks" section after the game.
Q: Can I increase the total bankroll for my account once I have started?
A: Of course, it's up to you. Once you get comfortable with how everything works, you'll probably want to increase your balance.
Q: What if I have a disagreement about my results?
A: Please contact our Customer Service department.
Q: I want to cancel my account.
A: Please contact our Customer Service department.
Q: What's the difference between PickLogic and other companies that sell their picks?
A: PickLogic is not a gambling service. Gamblers don't use PickLogic because the system doesn't provide immediate returns -- that's the "rush" that gamblers need. PickLogic is a system that provides consistent results over time -- it's not about "10 star picks" or "locks". No one single game is going to make or break our system.
